Massachusetts Congresswoman Katherine Clark just visited the Homestead detention center in Homestead, Florida, Tuesday.

It's the only shelter for migrant children crossing the border that's run by a private, for-profit company ... and it's a focus of controversy over living conditions and overcrowding.

New York Times investigation found that about half of the roughly 2,300 children detained there had been held longer than the 20-day legal standard, with some staying for weeks or months.
