Order a Flag

At the request of any constituent, the Congresswoman can coordinate for an American flag to be flown over the U.S. Capitol. The flag may also be flown in the honor of someone, such as a veteran or lost loved one. To start the process, you can purchase a U.S. flag from the House of Representatives, including shipping, which will give you the option of having the flag flown over the U.S. Capitol. If you choose that option, it will be sent to you with a certificate from the Architect of the Capitol declaring when it was flown and in honor of what person. 

Most outdoor flags can be washed in mild detergent and thoroughly rinsed. American Legion Posts and local governments often have facilities to dispose of unserviceable flags.
