The America COMPETES Act of 2022 will strengthen America’s supply chain and manufacturing and advance scientific innovation
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Assistant Speaker of the U.S. House Katherine Clark (MA-5) voted for the America Creating Opportunities for Manufacturing, Pre-Eminence in Technology and Economic Strength (COMPETES) Act of 2022. The America COMPETES Act of 2022 includes historic investments to surge production of American-made semiconductors, tackle supply chain vulnerabilities to make more goods, turbocharge America’s scientific research and technological leadership, and strengthen the nation’s economic and national security.
“Once again, President Biden is answering the economic challenges we face with real solutions. The America COMPETES Act will strengthen our supply chain, create American jobs, and greet families with fully stocked shelves and lower costs. In addition to strengthening our economic recovery, this legislation will improve our national security and global competitiveness by reducing our reliance on foreign semiconductor production and investing in research and innovation at home. I am looking forward to getting this bill onto President Biden’s desk so Democrats can continue to deliver for working families.”
