REVERE, MA  — Today, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) released the following statement on the 5th Circuit Court decision in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA:

“Today’s unfounded 5th Circuit Court decision on Mifepristone marks another step in MAGA extremists’ attempt to roll back the clock on reproductive freedom. 
 
“More than two decades of scientific evidence has proven that Mifepristone is safe and effective. The FDA’s decision in 2016 was a milestone in the fight for reproductive justice — ensuring Americans could access Mifepristone no matter their zip code. Following the Dobbs decision, this medication has become a critical lifeline for millions of people.
 
“I want Americans to know that access to Mifepristone remains unchanged — for now. But every day, MAGA Republicans continue their march to a nationwide abortion ban. Democrats will not stop fighting to defeat these extremist attacks. We refuse to let freedom be a right solely afforded to the powerful and the privileged.”
