STATEMENT ON BIPARTISAN BUDGET CAPS BILL

“The bipartisan agreement paves the way for Congress to responsibly fund our government and better support American families. It rejects the President’s reckless FY 2020 budget, averts a financial crisis by raising the debt ceiling, avoids another government shutdown, and allows us to move forward on the House-passed appropriations bills.

Additionally, with this deal, we have taken a significant step toward evening the scales between defense and non-defense spending, putting more resources toward programs like child care, education, and infrastructure.”
