Washington, D.C. – Today, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) released the below statement in response to House Republicans’ passage of two anti-abortion bills:

“Instead of building on our nation’s legacy of progress and defending freedom, House Republicans have made assaulting reproductive justice the cornerstone of their agenda.

“Time and again, the GOP demonstrates a total disregard for women and working families – advancing their anti-abortion agenda while voting against child care, paid family leave, and maternal health services. The American people have made themselves clear: they don’t want politicians in their bedrooms or doctor’s offices. They want solutions to the very real challenges they face.

“While the House Republican Majority continues its quest to criminalize health care, House Democrats stand united in the fight for freedom, for women, and for working families.”
