Clark Named to House Science and Tech Committee
Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Caucus approved the appointment of Congresswoman Katherine Clark to the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
“I’m honored to serve on a committee that is so vital to America’s future economic prosperity,” said Clark. “Thousands of students, scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs in the Commonwealth are leading the nation in innovative research and emerging technologies. America has always been on the frontier of scientific and technological advances, and investments in these sectors will ensure our long-term competitiveness in a global economy.”
In addition to her recent appointment to the Committee, Clark also serves on the Committee on Natural Resources. By working in both committees, Clark plans to advocate for policies that secure environmental protections and address climate change.
“Energy research is not only a booming economic driver in our global economy, it is also our ticket to a cleaner, healthier planet,” said Clark. “I’m eager to work with members of the Committee to strengthen our focus on clean and sustainable energy production.”
The Committee on Science, Space, and Technology has jurisdiction over all energy research; all federally owned or operated non-military energy laboratories; and astronautical research and development.
