FRAMINGHAM, MA — Today, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) joined United Way of Tri-County at their Framingham food pantry to collect and distribute meals ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Whip Clark also celebrated a $500,000 Community Investment Grant awarded to the United Way of Tri-County’s food security program by the Greater Boston Food Bank.
“In America, 47 million people are struggling with hunger. This is both a moral and a policy failure,” said Whip Clark. “Here in Massachusetts, United Way of Tri-County and the Greater Boston Food Bank are tackling this crisis, ensuring our neighbors have the nutritious meals they need and deserve. I’m proud to see Bay Staters watching out for one another during the holiday season and proud to partner with these local champions year-round in our fight to end hunger.”'
“We were so happy that Whip Clark, a long-time supporter of our programs to feed the hungry in Massachusetts, was able to once again join us as we were granted a 'transformational grant' by the Greater Boston Good Bank," said Paul L. Mina, President & CEO of the United Way of Tri-County. “The Congresswoman’s understanding of the issue of hunger in our Commonwealth is very helpful and provides leadership as we strive to eliminate systemic hunger throughout Massachusetts.”
