A growing number of Democrats in the House of Representatives are calling for President Donald Trump to be removed from office, either by impeachment or through the 25th amendment, after his supporters breached the U.S. Capitol as Congress met to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.
As many as 35 House Democrats have called for Trump’s removal, most notably Rep. Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), the assistant speaker of the House, who called the president a “traitor to our country and our constitution” in a statement.
...Even some Republicans are calling for Trump’s removal. Vermont Gov. Phil Scott tweeted that Trump should “should resign or be removed from office by his Cabinet, or by the Congress.” Former Rep. Denver Riggleman (R-Va.) told Forbes that he believes the cabinet should invoke the 25th amendment.
