A Southborough family with four members working as nurses at Brigham and Women’s Hospital during the coronavirus pandemic got an early Mother’s Day surprise Friday on the “Today” show.
Rosemary Wickman went into nursing almost 37 years ago, and her daughters, Kristina and Katie, followed in her footsteps, also working on the front line of the outbreak at the Boston hospital, the family told the network in an interview. Her son-in-law, Brad Robillard, also works there as a nurse.
All four of the family members are working with patients sick with COVID-19, and they’ve been cheered on by their community, including Massachusetts Congresswoman Katherine Clark.

Kristina and Katie both told “Today” they always knew they wanted to follow their mother’s career path.
“I decided to become a nurse because my role model and inspiration in life was a nurse, so I just wanted to follow in her footsteps,” Kristina said.
To say thank you to the family of health care workers, the “Today” show surprised the Southborough residents with a caravan of first responders and gifts of food, flowers, and Mother’s Day presents.
