WASHINGTON, DC — Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5), Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8), and Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (CA-33) issued the following statement on Congresswoman Cori Bush:

"A proud daughter of St. Louis, Congresswoman Cori Bush has kept her community at the forefront of her service in the People’s House. Time after time, Cori rose on behalf of St. Louis, and has been a relentless advocate for reproductive freedom, gun violence prevention and access to affordable housing.

"Cori has lived the struggles that so many everyday Americans have faced and she has kept the least, the lost and the left behind at the center of her work. On day one, she got to work championing economic, social and racial justice. She helped lead the charge to extend the federal eviction moratorium during the deadly COVID-19 pandemic and fought hard to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act.

"We are grateful for Rep. Bush’s contributions to the Congress, and we wish her well in the next chapter of her public service journey."
