WASHINGTON, D.C. — Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) issued the following statement on the second anniversary of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization:
“Two years ago today, Donald Trump’s right-wing Supreme Court chose to prioritize extremist ideology over the health, freedom, and survival of women. In eliminating the right to abortion care, they inflicted a wave of suffering.
“Doctors are being threatened with jail time. Patients are being denied lifesaving care. Hopeful moms are losing access to fertility treatments like IVF.
“But even now, Republicans have made clear they aren’t finished. They’re fighting to expand that suffering to every state — banning abortion nationwide, monitoring Americans’ pregnancies, and unleashing prosecutors on young girls.
“America is at a crossroads. For the sake of our daughters and granddaughters, we must win the fight for freedom over extremism.”
