WALTHAM, MA — Assistant Speaker Katherine Clark has released a statement praising the America COMPETES Act of 2022, passed by the House of Representatives on Friday.

The bill includes historic investments to surge production of American-made semiconductors, tackle supply chain vulnerabilities to make more goods, turbocharge America's scientific research and technological leadership, and strengthen the nation's economic and national security.

"Once again, President Biden is answering the economic challenges we face with real solutions," said Clark in a statement. "The America COMPETES Act will strengthen our supply chain, create American jobs, and greet families with fully stocked shelves and lower costs."

"In addition to strengthening our economic recovery, this legislation will improve our national security and global competitiveness by reducing our reliance on foreign semiconductor production and investing in research and innovation at home," she continued. "I am looking forward to getting this bill onto President Biden's desk so Democrats can continue to deliver for working families."
