WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Assistant Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Katherine Clark (MA-5) celebrated the one year anniversary of Democrats’ landmark Infrastructure Law and the transformative impact it has had on communities across Massachusetts.
“One year ago, Democrats sent the historic Infrastructure law to President Biden’s desk to make good on our promise to create a brighter, cleaner future for American families -- and it’s delivering,” said Assistant Speaker Clark. “The law is creating millions of union jobs, restoring our roads and bridges, upgrading our public transit systems, and ensuring communities have clean drinking water and reliable internet. We are rebuilding America while building an economy centered on working families.”
The Infrastructure Law has delivered funding for a range of projects across Massachusetts, including:
- $2.1 billion to repair roads, highways, and bridges
- $535 million to improve public transportation options
- $187 million to replace lead pipes and provide safe drinking water
- $22.9 million to build out a network of electric vehicle charging stations
- $94 million to facilitate a transition to clean energy
