WASHINGTON, D.C. – Assistant Speaker Katherine Clark (MA-5) released this statement on President Joe Biden’s budget proposal:

“President Biden’s budget is a blueprint for a more just and inclusive America. His plan includes transformative investments in education, transportation, substance use disorder treatment, and climate change. These investments will be funded by corporations and the wealthiest Americans - restoring fairness to our tax code.

“This budget is a roadmap for success for families with increased affordable child care, universal pre-k, and paid family leave. The President has also called for the elimination of the Hyde Amendment that has denied low-income women reproductive health care for over four decades. 

“Now, it’s up to Congress to ensure that we bring this budget to life and rebuild an inclusive economy that works for working families.”
