Office is now accepting virtual submissions

Tuesday, April 28, 2020- Malden —Today, Congresswoman Katherine Clark (MA-05) announced that her office will now be accepting virtual submissions for the Congressional Art Competition, and that the submissions deadline for students of Massachusetts’ 5th District would be extended to May 22, 2020 to account for disruptions to the school year prompted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. 

“To accommodate our community’s high school students as they adapt to remote learning and other disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our submissions deadline for the 2020 Congressional Art Competition has been extended to May 22,” said Congresswoman Clark. “I encourage all our community’s incredibly gifted students to showcase their artistic talents and apply online when they are able.”

Students should submit a digital copy of the artwork along with their 2020 Student Release Form, an e-signature from their art teacher, and a completed 2020 Art Submission Checklist by 5PM EDT on Friday, May 22 to taylor.kim@mail.house.gov. To learn more about submission requirements and to apply online, please visit: https://katherineclark.house.gov/index.cfm/congresswoman-clark-art-competition for more information. 

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.
