The Sudbury Democratic Town Committee congratulates Congresswoman Katherine Clark for her election to the position of assistant speaker of the House. We have enjoyed front row seats while she has made her mark in Congress over the past seven years. Who can forget the visual of Rep. Clark and John Lewis sitting on the floor of Congress insisting that two important gun control measures be brought to a vote? We are so proud to have her as the House Representative for most of our town, and we foresee a bright future for her going forward.

We celebrate her successful effort to recruit and elect progressive Democrats to the House, continuing to raise the number of women in that chamber. With her joining the leadership team we are even more confident that President Biden and Vice President Harris working with Congress will be successful in achieving our common goals.

We are also grateful for her willingness to come to our meetings and to participate in our Independence Day parades. We look forward to welcoming her back to Sudbury in the future and to working both with her and for her in the coming years
