WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) announced the promotion of seasoned Capitol Hill aide Joy Lee to Communications Director, following the departure of Communications Director and Senior Advisor Kathryn Alexander.
“Joy is a model public servant who has devoted her career to boosting House Democrats’ agenda for the American people. She has been a vital member of my leadership team, and I am thrilled to have her step into this new role as we continue our fight on behalf of working families,” said Democratic Whip Katherine Clark. “I am grateful to Kathryn for nearly 8 years of wise counsel. Our entire team wishes her and her family the very best in this next chapter.”
Lee previously served as Whip Clark’s Deputy Communications Director. Before joining the Whip’s leadership office in 2023, Lee was a longtime advisor to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, serving as National Press Secretary. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a Master’s from Johns Hopkins University.
