Whip Clark Statement on the Fourth Anniversary of Dobbs

June 24, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) released the following statement on the fourth anniversary of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization:

“Four years ago, Donald Trump’s right-wing Supreme Court stripped women of the fundamental right to make their own healthcare decisions.

“Right now, nearly 27 million women of reproductive age live under state abortion bans. Clinics are shuttering, and women are forced to carry life-threatening pregnancies. Women veterans are being denied access to essential healthcare. Providers are being threatened with jail time. Hopeful parents are losing access to fertility treatments like IVF.

“Donald Trump and Republicans have made clear that their attacks on reproductive freedom will only continue. Under their draconian agenda, politicians have been handed control over the medical decisions of a woman’s life.

“Reproductive care is healthcare. Standing shoulder to shoulder with the American people, Democrats will continue to fight for a future worthy of our daughters and granddaughters. We will not stop until every woman has the freedom to make her own healthcare decisions.”
