Boston News: Rep. Katherine Clark agrees with Rachel Maddow, says: ‘Blame the rollout’

March 13, 2021

On Thursday, MSNBC host and Massachusetts resident Rachel Maddow took to Twitter to rebuke Gov. Charlie Baker’s rebuke of local teacher union officials’ requests regarding vaccine distribution in the state.

In a quote-tweet of a Boston Globe article, Maddow wrote, “The Massachusetts vaccine rollout has been terrible from the beginning — and remains so. But now it’s getting *pugnaciously* terrible. So that’s something, I guess.”

It appears Maddow is not alone in her opinion. On Friday, Rep. Katherine Clark, who represents Massachusetts’ 5th congressional district, agreed with her, tweeting, “Exactly, Rachel. If 3 months into our vaccine rollout, #MA‘s most vulnerable residents are still not vaccinated, don’t blame teachers. Blame the rollout. #mapoli.”

The ongoing situation between the state’s teachers unions and the Baker administration remains a contentious one. Just this week, k-12 teachers and other school employees became eligible to sign up for COVID-19 vaccine appointments.
