WASHINGTON, D.C. — Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) issued the following statement in observance of Memorial Day:

 “On Memorial Day, we remember the patriots who gave their lives in service to our country and our democracy. They made the ultimate sacrifice wherever duty called. We are free because they were brave, and America is forever grateful.
 
“As we commemorate this solemn holiday, let us remember our commitment to America’s Gold Star families, veterans, and their loved ones. They rely on the health care and benefits they’ve earned through service and sacrifice, and we must never walk away from this responsibility.”
